Programmes

Three facets, one mission.

Our chapter runs focused programmes in education, health and hunger relief — each designed around the real needs we see in Mumbai.

01

Education — Financial Literacy Programme

In partnership with First Abu Dhabi Bank's CSR initiative, we deliver financial literacy awareness sessions to underprivileged students across low-income private, government-aided and government schools in Mumbai, alongside distribution of co-branded storybooks that reinforce learning. In FY 2024–25 alone, the programme reached 6,421 students across 18 schools, from Mumbra to Malabar Hill, with an average post-test score of 62.4%.

Education — Ratnanidhi Saksham Science Centre

Our hands-on science facility in Mumbai houses 80+ interactive exhibits across Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Astronomy. In the 2025–26 academic year the Centre served 1,407 beneficiaries across 68 schools — mainly students, but also teachers, principals and parents — with participants showing an average 47% improvement in science assessment scores between pre- and post-tests. The Centre also runs a 40-hour Science Club for deeper, ongoing engagement.

Health & Disability Support

As part of Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust's national mobility and hearing-aid programme, we support medical camps, vision screening and mobility-aid distribution for people who otherwise can't access this care. The trust has run camps from Leh, Kargil and Srinagar to Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, and operates permanent centres to support people with disabilities in Mumbai, including a Jaipur Foot centre for amputees. Aids provided include callipers, prosthetics, tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches and hearing aids, delivered through custom-built Mobile Orthopaedic Hospital Vans staffed by trained fabrication teams. In FY 2024–25 the trust fitted 2,638 mobility and prosthetic aids across 17 locations.

Hunger Relief

Through the trust's Food for Education initiative, we provide free, hygienically prepared meals to children in government and municipal schools across Mumbai, so that hunger doesn't stand between a child and a classroom — 6,39,743 meals served in FY 2024–25 to nearly 4,000 children daily across 31 schools and 6 partner NGOs. During the COVID-19 lockdown this extended to daily khichdi distribution for needy families and daily-wage earners from trust kitchens in Matunga, Dadar, Ghatkopar and Chembur. Several partner schools — including Union High School and Chikitsak Samuha Shirolkar High School, Girgaum — have publicly acknowledged the trust's ongoing mid-day meal support.

Livelihood

The trust runs livelihood programmes such as sewing-machine donations and skills support, giving people the tools to earn a stable income rather than depend on ongoing aid. This chapter directs local enquiries and in-kind contributions for these programmes to the wider trust — contact us for current activities.

Disaster Relief

The trust has stepped in during past emergencies with food, medical supplies and relief material — from lockdown-era khichdi distribution to earlier disaster response work. Disaster relief is coordinated at the trust level, with this chapter supporting Mumbai-based distribution when a response is activated locally.
